Allows commanding officers to gain an understanding of the psychological implications of involvement in a critical incident, both for those on the ground and for the commander themselves.

Includes:-

  • The Stress Response: Physical / Psychological responses to high threat situations.

  • Cognition's in the Firearms Situation: Decision making under fire; Automatic behaviour; Memory; Attentional factors; Command factors.

  • Following the Incident: Psychological effects during and after the critical incident.
